Each year, during the month of July, writers and authors work on our individual projects separately. We log our daily word counts in the NaNoWriMo website to track our progress. This year I am working on a new cozy mystery. My goal is to write 25,000 words during the month of July. This will jump start my novel and if I maintain the 806 words a day I’ll be close to 50% complete going into the month of August.
My word count goal is somewhere between 55,000 – 65,000 words for this novel. I’m looking forward to completing my first draft. Here’s a mockup of a fake cover I created – it’s a placeholder until I finalize a permanent cover.
I’ll let you know where I land at the end of the month, maybe sooner if I have some news to share.
